Dating back to 1924 and designed by Dr Alister Mackenzie, the architect of the Augusta National Golf Course in Georgia U.S.A. on which the renowned annual U.S. Masters Golf Championship is played. Teignmouth Golf Club is a Limited Company with a Board of Directors and operates as a private members golf club. Visitors are welcome all year round and are required to pay green fees on entry. Set out on the high plateau of Little Haldon, over 800 feet above sea level, the course is unique in its situation, with breathtaking and extensive views. From the outgoing half we look down on Teignmouth itself, over the Teign estuary to the Devon shore as far as Berry Head.


Warren Golf Club - Dawlish - 4.04 miles
Warren Golf Club The Warren Golf Club presents a rare challenge – golf as it used to be. It is the only true links course on the South coast of Devon, sited in a National Nature Reserve. With water on both sides of the course and often a tricky wind the course can be demanding. The greens are excellent, the course natural. The varied plant life brings colour to the round whatever the time of year, and you are never far from the wildlife. The course is part of many major migratory routes, and there are many rare species to be seen. If you are lucky, you may catch sight of a fox, or a hunting stoat, and you will often see birds of prey hovering above the heather and gorse which line some of the fairways.

Berry Pomeroy Castle - Devon - 7.69 miles
Berry Pomeroy Castle This romantic ruined castle is situated in a picturesque Devon valley and steeped in local folklore and legend. The gatehouse and defensive curtain wall date from the late 15th century and behind them are the remains of an Elizabethan country house built C.1560-1600 by the Seymour family. Edward Seymour, first Duke of Somerset – also known as the uncle and governor of the boy-king, Edward VI – acquired the castle in 1547. On the wall of the gatehouse chamber is a 15th-century painting of the three kings bearing gifts to Christ. A fascinating audio tour is also available.
